Avenida Colorida
Oct 2007, Ghent, Belgium
I don't know any unhappy photographers.
How could it be ?
They see so much beauty in the little things...

The truth is cold
Brugge, Belgium, 22 December 2007
There exists a temperature, so cold that everything becomes a crystal, nothing moves. Everything is reduced to its essence, and the essence is a thing of such profound beauty, but also such fragility, that any look, any touch, any breath is enough to destroy it. The temperature will rise and everything becomes unclear, shakes violently through life.
The truth is calm, cold. The truth is not a place we live in. It is an idea we have to remember sometimes, not to become to chaotic. But the truth itself, though perfectly peaceful and calm and beautiful, is not a state we humans can endure for long. We need contact, we need touch, we need to bump into eachother...
Only in this non pure state are we able to see eachother, only there can we really meet eachother. Less beautiful, less pure then we could be, but the only way we can see eachother without destroying eachother forever.
We need to know that the truth exist, so that we may seek it, so that we may reach the pure state again and start over if we have been too bumped and scratched. But we don't stay there. It's pretty lonely there.

Pôr do sol
December 2007, Balen Keiheuvel, Belgium
If there is one thing I missed in Portugal, or that I didn´t see enough, then it's sunsets...
No place like the wet air of belgium to color the sky in the most beautiful shades of red.
I adore the sky in the blue I only encountered in Portugal, a blue sky any way you looked, so deep, so calm.
But this radiant red, this fire made of light and water, it doesn't make up, but it compensates a little the rain...

Bright things lie ahead
December 2007, Aarschot, Belgium
Have this friend that told me yesterday. "Djiezes man man man, what´s your problem ? You are alive, you are in good health, you are in no immediate money problems... What are you whining about ? Life is only more interesting for all the other problems you have. So shut up, get out of that chair and go enjoy these experiences, though they be-eth hard. They will not come back, and you will feel regret of not having savoured them. Your life is not the sum of the nice things minus the sad things, but it´s the total of experiences you went through and came out of with a smile!"

Passo a passo
Heverlee, Belgium, December 2007
I will get there,
there are a lot of steps to take, and I don't know how many curves to follow.
But I will get there.
I will get there,
there are a lot of steps to take, and I don't know how many curves to follow.
But I will get there.

The theme goes on
and it will echo forever, the small dimples we make in the water that is life.
The theme of life is written for us, we cannot change it. The choice we have is wether we sing along in harmony or break it...
But don't forget, a perfect disharmony can put a beautiful accent.
Sing your tune, make it catchy, make it ordinary, make it an epos or make it a novel, but whatever you do, never never make it boring.

Mirror mirror on the Wall
Brussels, October 2007
The way you look is one of the communication media towards other
people that gets the most attention, often more then what you say...
Yet it is also the only medium you don't have control over ; not even
in the mirror will you ever understand how you look.

The best mirror you will ever have, is the way people look at you.

Mama, why ?
Mama,
why is the sky blue ?
why do clouds change shape ?
If I was a statue, would I be cold ?
And if I had a blanket, would I still feel cold ?
And with a very very warm blanket ?
Is there a number bigger then infinite ?
why does the washing machine turn always first left and then right ?
Why don't you understand when I say a little much ?
Why are we here ?
Is it still far ?
Can I have a cookie ?
Why do we call a tree a tree ?
If I swallow a chewing gum, what will happen ?
Why are babies born with their head first ?

Thank you mama, for answering all my questions...

Can you walk the walk ?
Sometimes, you have the freedom to be who you are, and everything is
going great, and you can realize yourself and be happy about it.
Sometimes, you dont have that freedom, and you have to push yourself
through a hole you don't really fit, so that you can realize yourself
and be happy about it.
This is the game life is, and I wish the rules would be honest and
fair, but they aren't. Yet the more you complain about the crappy
rules, the less you can play.
Luckily, life is a game that requires tactics, but it's also a game of
chance ; ) There is no square that is really a lost square, anything
can happen.
I have fretted the rules for a long time. Now I have to learn how to
play by them...
